Can NJ Parents Opt their children out of State Testing? From the website, Choose to Refuse NJ: “If you would like to have your child remain in school during testing week and not be subject to ‘make-up tests’, your child must refuse the test. There are no provisions in New Jersey for students to opt out, however, there are provisions for refusals.”
